Thanksgiving is coming right up! Cats are definitely something we are grateful for. Fluffy is cute, cuddly, lovable, and, of course, highly entertaining. But if your pet could make a list of things she appreciated, what do you suspect would be on it? An Ellicott City, MD vet makes a few educated guesses below.
Beds
Fluffy certainly loves her beauty rest. Your kitty may rotate from spot to spot for her morning, midmorning, noon, afternoon, evening, and nighttime naps, before snuggling up with you for the night.
Warm Laps
Kitties just happen to be the perfect size to sleep on their human friends’ laps. (Of course, Fluffy always seems to hop into our laps when we are about to get up, but that’s another topic.)
Sunbeams
Have you ever noticed how smug and content kitties look when they’re sprawled out in sunbeams? Case in point.
Boxes
No one can really say for sure just why cats are so obsessed with boxes. However, we do know that a kitty with a box is one happy kitty!
Catnip
Fluffy’s favorite plant would definitely make the list of her favorite things. Giving your furry friend catnip may be almost as much fun for you as it is for her! (Tip: try offering your pet catnip bubbles. Or, grow small pots of organic catnip yourself, and give them to your cat to nibble on.)
Food
Like most of our animal companions, cats are quite fond of food. Your kitty may smack you with her paw to wake you up when she wants breakfast. She may also meow or rub against your legs to request dinner. Nutrition is very important, so offer Fluffy a high-quality, premium brand of pet food.
Veterinary Care
We know, given the option, your feline pal may knock this one right off the list. However, regardless of Fluffy’s opinion of her veterinary appointments, she’ll be much healthier—and therefore happier—with proper care.
Clean Litterboxes
Cats prefer their purrsonal bathrooms to be kept clean, and who can blame them?
You
Fluffy has tried hard to convince us that she’s a cold, aloof killer. However, at the end of the day, many of our feline patients are lovable and cuddly, and are really affectionate to their humans.
