Summer isn’t far off now! Many people are pulling their warm weather things out of storage, and making plans for the coming months. As it turns out, your kitty may also have a few things on her to-do list for the summer. Read on as an Ellicott City, MD vet lists a few things your feline pal will be up to this summer.
Nap
Rain or shine, Fluffy will diligently pursue her napping schedule. Those 33 daily naps are helping your pet train for becoming a sleeping master!
Sunbathing
Kitties don’t actually run on solar power. However, we’re not sure if anyone has ever bothered to tell them that. Fluffy will spend a good chunk of her summer just soaking up the sun.
Birdwatching
Our feline friends absolutely love watching birds and other small animals. If Fluffy has a comfy spot before a window with a good view, there’s a good chance she’ll spend a lot of time there over the coming months.
Block Traffic
Cats are very, very good at getting comfortable. When it’s hot, they tend to seek out the coolest spots to lounge around in. Don’t be surprised if Fluffy decides to sprawl out on the kitchen or bathroom floor. Because tile often stays cool, these spots often stay comfortable.
Pounce Perfection
We suspect that your kitty will spend at least a little bit of time this summer working on her pounces. Fluffy does like to keep up with her hunting skills!
Moth/Fly Patrol
At some point this year, a winged invader will intrude your home. Fluffy may dutifully try to defend her kingdom by smacking it with her paw. Or, she may just sleep through the invasion. You really never know with cats.
Help Herself
Making sure that Fluffy always has plenty of fresh water is very important. However, it won’t necessarily keep her from sticking her paw (or nose) into your glass of ice water.
Plot
Sooner or later, you’ll find your kitty just lounging about, looking cute. Fluffy may not be as innocent as she appears! We suspect that cats deliberately look extra adorable when they are plotting things. Don’t worry, though: your pet’s evil plans probably just involve stealing your chair or scoring extra catnip.
